Welcome to Ceredigion DA * Croeso i Gymdeithas Ddosbarth Ceredigion

We are situated in West Wales and cover the area from Cardigan to Machynlleth along the coast and inland to Lampeter and Llanidloes. We have approximately 100 members spread thinly over an area 65x 25 miles in size. Farming and tourism are the main economic activities of the area. The mild wet climate ensures plenty of lush grass and many streams and rivers.

As a DA we organize 3-4 led rides each year, usually from Cardigan or Aberystwyth. Offers to lead rides from other places in our area are always welcomed. There are 5 Youth Hostels within our area. There are opportunities for off-road cycling in the north and east of the district.

Cycling is generally a pleasure in this area with plenty of quiet country roads, although the hilly terrain can be quite tiring. A few hardy souls use the bike as their means of transport, but the large distances between population centres makes this an impractical solution for the majority, so most cycling is recreational. Refreshment stops have to be carefully planned as cafes are rather thin on the ground. There are some cycle paths in the Aberystwyth area, but no National Cycle Routes have reached us yet.

We have 2 Right-to-Ride representatives who keep in contact with the County Council on a regular basis, through the Ceredigion Cycling Forum.

Mae rhai ohonon ni yn siarad Cymraeg ac mae croeso cynnes i bawb sy'n mwynhau seiclo.
